Daniel and Mariah’s Gliderport Elopement, La Jolla and Cardiff by the Sea

I am obsessed with this day! Mariah and Daniel are two of the most adventurous people I have ever met and their wedding reflected that spirit. They have climbed literal mountains together and I wanted to help them create a day that felt just like them. They even made sure to include their pup Tele, Daniels ride or die, avalanche rescue team dog in all the main events of the day. The main inspiration for Daniel and Mariah’s wedding was iridescent pearls, since pearls grow layer by layer and shine because of that growth. Like these two.

The entire team kept that curved rainbow vision in mind as we each came up with our pieces of this gorgeous elopement. The rainbow curve of the pearls inspired the arch of their backdrop with pearl extensions and in the invitation suites arch and color palate. It inspired the florals, with colors across the the spectrum of color, and that soft texture a pearl exudes. Mariah’s sweet best friend Ali, gold pressed each of the napkins with a unique custom cut press print of florals and plants Mariah loves. The dance floor and dinner area was decorated with floating pearls and soft Tulle, and disco ball that we all took turns spinning on the dance floor. All of the materials of the lights and table decor reflected the natural texture and softness of the pearl. The food tied in all the colors of the rainbow and was a taste explosion. Their reception was in my parents Cardiff by the Sea home, which fit the coastal theme (with a Mediterranean twist) , and luckily for us had a lush garden full of florals and greenery. The perfect backdrop for getting ready and their first look. Daniel got ready with his closest friends and brothers at our neighbors, and they walked over to my parents, drinks in hand and smiles on their faces!

Daniel and Mariah’s love story is unique and special, but in particular this wedding was one of my favorite days ever because Daniel is my little brother. From start to finish this day was the ultimate collaboration with these two. We knew that we would have their big day next to the ocean, and the Gliderport was the perfect adventure location. The pacific ocean behind them shining and sparkling, gliders floating all around them, and people from across the globe tuned into a you tube live, they committed their lives to one another. My brother and I grew up helping my dad work on his white Mercedes convertible, and these two got to drive away from their ceremony full of joy in the car our whole family loves, the “little white car”. We made a quick stop at our favorite view point of cardiff and took some fun picutres before making our way to home to celebrate with our family. This day was so special and I’ll treasure the opportunity to help give these two the perfect day. Thank you both for trusting me, and thank you to the team who helped make it all happen!
